
A tragic incident occurred on the South Mopac Expressway service road in South Austin as a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle, as reported by CBS Austin. The Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the emergency around 7:06 p.m. on Wednesday evening, near the Monterrey Oaks intersection at 8800-8801 S Mopac Expy Svrd Nb. The collision proved fatal for the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A KXAN photojournalist noted that the crash site was located on Mopac, between Davis Lane and West Slaughter Lane, but additional specifics on the investigation have not been made public.
