Two Phoenix families, each shouldering their unique burdens, were the latest beneficiaries of such community generosity, receiving free air conditioning units just in time to brace for the relentless heat wave on the horizon.
According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Princess Crump, a Phoenix woman who has been waging a five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma, found a sliver of comfort amid her health struggles thanks to local company Semper Fi Heating and Cooling. After years of enduring an unreliable air conditioning system, the surprise installation of a brand-new unit brought Crump a measure of relief she hadn't expected. "That was a lot," Crump said with emotions brimming following the generous act, which also coincided with her birthday. Melissa, with Semper Fi, conveyed the company's understanding of her financial struggles, stating, "She's on a fixed income, we understand it gets hard, it's a big investment and so any way we can help, we're definitely willing to it."
That same sense of community welfare was echoed by Bumble Bee Air Conditioning, which awarded a free air conditioning unit to the Trejo family from Glendale, AZFamily.com reported. With a new home and a daughter with autism, the Trejo's faced their specific challenges. The cooling system, they won during a Phoenix Zoo autism walk raffle, stands to significantly improve their living conditions. "It's really great! We just bought the house, so this is a big blessing for us, so we don't have to worry about that now," said Sam Trejo, also highlighting his daughter's susceptibility to overheating.
Lisa Bayne, owner of Bumble Bee Air Conditioning, underscored the company's commitment to giving back to the locals. "It’s more important than anything for us to give back to the community," she expressed, recognizing the importance of air conditioning in a climate like Arizona's.
