Pittsburgh authorities have pressed homicide charges against 28-year-old Ishmeil Muhammad in connection with a shooting that claimed two lives in Duquesne. The incident, which occurred in January, fatally wounded Sean Johnson Jr., 30, and Catherine Lawing, 39, as reported by the Post-Gazette. Johnson Jr. was pronounced dead at the crime scene, while Lawing succumbed to her injuries at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh several days later.
Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit spearheaded the investigation, eventually identifying Muhammad as a suspect. Witnesses and surveillance footage played a key role in the investigation. Both victims were shot in the head during the early morning hours at a residence on Commonwealth Avenue. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, Muhammad has been arrested and is currently awaiting arraignment while being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
