Medford drivers, take note: a series of lane closures could affect your travel plans this coming week. According to an update from the city of Medford, Lane Closures are scheduled from March 5th through the 12th in various locations for vegetation management by Asplundh Tree Experts on behalf of Pacific Power.
Travel on Lone Pine Road between Brookdale Avenue and Thrasher Lane will be impacted with the Eastbound lane closure and flaggers on site directing traffic. The work, which involves removing vegetation from power lines, is expected to last five hours on one of the announced dates. On South Pacific Highway, from South Stage Road to Lowary Lane, the Northbound right lane will be shut down, and signs will be posted, while Asplundh carries out similar work. Starting with a five-hour closure between 8 am and 5 pm in the week.
In addition, Central Avenue drivers between Earhart Street and Bank Street will experience alternating lane closures with signage to assist the traffic flow. This is again due to the Asplundh's team working on clearing vegetation from power lines in the area. As with the other closures, a single five-hour disruption is anticipated between 8 am and 5 pm within the dates provided.
Officials urge motorists to plan for potential delays and suggest seeking alternate routes where possible. The city statement obtained by the Medford website mentioned, "Travelers should expect delays associated with this work and are advised to seek alternate routes and parking." The statement further acknowledges the public's cooperation in maintaining safety around Medford's work zones. It also notes that the work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions or other potential factors influencing operations.
