Spanning from February 23 to March 1, officers dealt with a plethora of incidents, showing both the routine and unexpected facets of law enforcement in this Massachusetts town.
The numbers, as presented on the department's Facebook page, are stark: 686 incidents in total, with the officers making 11 arrests and filing an equivalent number of criminal complaints. The community's roads were scenes for 24 motor vehicle accidents, while traffic enforcement efforts led to 65 stops.
In the realm of property protection, 19 house and building alarms were noted, alongside 11 disturbances that punctuated the week. And for every instance of tumult, there was an almost countering act of scrutiny, with 28 reports of suspicious activities.
There were 28 accidental 911 calls. Moreover, the number that perhaps most humanizes the force is the 53 medical, mental, and wellbeing checks conducted.
