In the ongoing battle to maintain safety on roadways, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office is taking a stand by enforcing speed limits in construction zones. The office shared a post on Facebook, detailing their morning efforts to promote a culture of safe driving, particularly in work zones.
The social media update revealed "several citations have been issued" as part of the initiative. It's a move that suggests a zero-tolerance approach to reckless driving, especially considering that the highest speed clocked this morning was 82MPH in the work zone.
Driving over the speed limit in construction areas not only endangers the driver but also the workers and other motorists. The sheriff's office implores locals to "slow down and pay attention," highlighting the shared responsibility of all road users to uphold safety standards.
