A couple in the Bronx was robbed at gunpoint last Wednesday around 9:45 p.m. as they returned home. Surveillance footage shows a masked individual following them to their porch and forcing them inside at gunpoint. The suspect pointed a firearm at the woman, who is five-and-a-half months pregnant, and demanded valuables from her husband. The husband was struck in the head with the firearm. He later told CBS News New York, "It's the most scariest thing I've ever been through." The incident is under investigation.
Authorities estimate the value of the stolen items, including jewelry and a cellphone, at approximately $147,000. Among them was a sentimental chain given to the husband by his late father, prompting him to offer a $20,000 reward for its recovery. "I'm just happy that we're OK, that we got out of it with our lives," the husband told CBS News New York.
A family that has lived in the building for less than a year is considering moving after a reported robbery. The suspect remains at large, and investigators believe similar incidents have occurred before. A neighbor, Muhammad, said, "Today, it's just a robbery. Tomorrow, it could be a violent robbery – a more violent crime." The NYPD has not announced any arrests. The victim’s husband stated, "The police said these people – this is not the first time they've done this. It's ongoing. So they most likely have an idea who they are." The investigation is ongoing, as mentioned by PIX11.
