
A 22-year-old man from Randolph, Massachusetts, was left seriously wounded after a shooting incident on Sunday afternoon. The events unfolded around 2:30 p.m. at 96 North Main Street, as reported by MassLive. According to police, the young man suffered a gunshot wound through his back and was promptly transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment.
Randolph Police, quickly on the scene, were assisted by the public in pinpointing the suspect, a 24-year-old man from the neighboring city of Brockton, who was arrested less than a mile away from the shooting site. NBC Boston notes that the arrest occurred nearby a Chipotle restaurant at 51 Warren St. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found in possession of two 9-millimeter guns at the time of his apprehension.
Chief Anthony Marag, in statements obtained by both news outlets, praised his officers for their rapid response. "This was a swift and coordinated response by our officers, which led to the immediate arrest of an armed suspect," Marag highlighted. The police investigation, involving both state and local police, concluded that at least one round had been fired in the incident, as per MassLive.
