
Darryl Quander, 58, was sentenced to 40 months in prison for stealing from multiple CVS stores in Washington. Known as the "Redbull Guy" for frequently stealing Red Bull, Quander's thefts occurred between February 26 and April 24, 2024, totaling over $3,500 in stolen goods, as per the U.S. Attorney's Office release.
Quander pleaded guilty in December 2024, and on riday last week, he was sentenced by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. and Chief Pamela Smith of the MPD. His sentence includes 40 months of prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The charges will run consecutively, ensuring full time served.
Surveillance footage from CVS locations on the 1000 block of 16th Street NW and the 1400 block of P Street NW played a key role in the case. The footage showed Quander stealing merchandise 24 times over 58 days, leading to his capture.
After Quander’s arrest on June 10, 2024, authorities quickly gathered evidence.
