Yesterday marked the anniversary of the passing of a significant figure in DC's political history. Dave Clarke, a former Council Chairman of the District of Columbia, was remembered by the Council and the city he served, as per The Council of the District of Columbia.
As noted on the official social media account of The Council of the District of Columbia, Clarke's tenure in office spanned from his start in 1975 as the Home Rule Ward 1 Councilmember to his later years as Council Chairman from 1983 to 1991 and again from 1993 until his death in 1997.
