The Reno Police Department teamed up with the Nevada Highway Patrol to conduct an operation targeting speeders on McCarran. The joint effort, which took place yesterday, comes as part of a broader initiative to address speeding, a major factor contributing to fatal vehicle incidents in Reno and across Nevada.
According to a social media post from the Reno Police Department, the operation resulted in 86 vehicles being stopped and a whopping 84 drivers walking away with citations. This is the first of several joint operations aimed at reducing speed violations on the region's roads.
The Reno Police Department's post on Facebook emphasized the gravity of speeding as a leading cause of death on the roads. "Speed is one of the leading contributing factors of fatal vehicle collisions around Reno and statewide," the department stated, urging drivers to adhere to the speed limit and to minimize distractions while behind the wheel.
