Last week, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office's Retail Theft Task Force apprehended three repeat offenders during an attempted shoplifting spree at a TJ Maxx in San Jose. The suspects were caught red-handed stuffing merchandise into their bags and walking out of the store without paying, a reckless play that did not go unnoticed by the vigilant officers tracking the situation.
Following their theft at the Hillsdale Avenue retail establishment, the law enforcement team trailed the trio back to their van, discovering trash bags packed with apparel lifted not only from TJ Maxx but also from Marshalls, and this is not their first rodeo, earlier in the day they had burgled another store, striking the pockets of retail with a nearly $7,000 blow before justice clipped their spree short. A revelation posted on social media by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office detailed the bust, with one of the suspects standing out with an outstanding out-of-county warrant specifically for retail theft.
The suspects, hailing from Vallejo, saw their misadventure culminate in arrest and booking at the County of Santa Clara, California Main Jail. With nearly $7,000 in garments retrieved, the Sheriff's Office underscores its commitment to protecting local businesses from predatory acts.
