In a case that underscores the ongoing battle against human trafficking, the San José Police Department (SJPD) Human Trafficking Task Force made an arrest last month. According to the SJPD, Kendrick Robinson, a 22-year-old Richmond resident, was apprehended on charges related to the sex trafficking of a minor. The official report indicated that a comprehensive investigation began in November 2024 when Robinson initiated contact with someone he believed was an underage girl, communicating through online and phone exchanges to arrange for commercial sex, as per the San José Police Department.
After obtaining an arrest warrant, Robinson was taken into custody by the SJPD's Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit last Thursday as he traveled from Richmond to San Jose. It was with the intent of exploiting the juvenile that he believed arrangements for commercial sex trafficking were made.
The task force's diligent efforts to bring this suspect to justice were assisted by the U.S. Department of State's Diplomatic Security Service – San Francisco Field Office, an acknowledgment publicly extended by the SJPD. In light of the arrest, the SJPD has issued a call to action for anyone with information about this case to come forward.
