A recent incident involving a group of juveniles recklessly driving e-bikes and motorcycles through Riverside County roadways has led to an arrest, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office reports. On the afternoon of January 20, deputies from the Southwest Station were called to a scene where approximately 20 minors were seen obstructing traffic and compromising safety on local streets.
During the operation, a deputy tried to pull over a juvenile on an unregistered motorcycle, who then decided to flee. In a public safety decision, deputies chose not to pursue the individual as the chase would pose a greater risk due to the high speeds and the minor's disregard for traffic signals, as detailed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation following the disruption resulted in the identification of the offending motorcyclist—a male juvenile. He was taken into custody and is facing charges of felony evading, according to the department's press release. As a consequence of his actions, his motorcycle has been confiscated.
