The City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire reported that a 27-year-old man, Christopher Foy, was arrested at his apartment for shooting a firearm at an occupied building following a 911 call that was received at 8:17 PM. After an expedited response, police located Foy and took him into custody.

According to the social media post by the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire, multiple officers responded within two minutes of the call. Before Foy's apprehension, a witness had reported hearing a female crying in an apartment, followed by a single gunshot. The turmoil ceased immediately after the shot was fired, raising concerns for the woman’s safety. She was later found unharmed.

Foy allegedly stepped out of his residence and fired a shot across the Rohnert Park Expressway, endangering lives in a nearby business that was open and had people inside at the time.

Foy faces several grave charges, including discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, carrying a loaded firearm in public, and a probation violation. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail with the case number 25-0638. Rohnert Park officials expressed gratitude towards the Cotati Police Department for the aides they provided during the incident. The Department of Public Safety urges any witnesses or individuals with additional information to come forward and contact them at (707)584-2600.
