
Rutherford County residents are facing increased travel disruption as the Sheriff's Office announces additional road closures following a recent storm that swept through the area. This compounded the community's ongoing recovery efforts from initial damages.
The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office has updated the list of affected roads on social media. Armstrong Valley Road at Thompson Road and Versailles Road at Newton Road are now closed to traffic. Panther Creek Road has been submerged, and firefighters are actively clearing debris from Threet and Putnam Roads. Additionally, outbuildings and street signs on Threet Road have sustained damage. Emergency crews are working urgently to restore normalcy to the area.
The social media post from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office included a gratitude shout-out to Deputy Keerawat Mingcharoenwong for providing photos that capture the extent of the damage and noted that additional thoroughfares such as Vaught Road, Stones River Road, along with the County Farm Road slabs. Cranor Road between Old Woodbury Road and Bairds Corner Drive remained shut at 8 p.m. yesterday.
Residents are reminded to exercise caution and avoid the affected areas if possible while recovery efforts are underway, as the roads mentioned will likely remain inaccessible for the time being until the authorities actively declare them safe for passage and the Sheriff's Office continues to keep the public informed, offering updates via social media to help navigate this period of inconvenience and rebuilding.
