
A Sacramento man tragically lost his life after a powerful wave swept him out to sea off the coast of Sonoma County late Sunday morning, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office confirmed. Shanglong Tang, aged 43, was standing alongside another individual on the coastal rocks when the incident unfolded, resulting in a call to authorities at approximately 10:41 a.m. for a water rescue at Gerstle Cove, according to information shared by FOX40.
Following his disappearance into the chilly waters, the sheriff's office managed to locate Tang by deploying their helicopter unit. He was retrieved and returned to shore, where he was handed over to waiting medical staff.
Despite immediate CPR efforts, KCRA reported that he was pronounced dead at 11:26 a.m. that morning. The tragedy occurred by the sea.
