
Following a tragic incident in late January, the Sacramento Police Department reported on Sunday The death of a man who was previously hospitalized after a severe stabbing on the 2300 block of I Street. The victim, whose identity is pending release upon family notification by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, succumbed to his injuries on March 6th, prompting a reclassification of the case.
The suspect involved, 55-year-old Mark Reese of Sacramento, was promptly arrested at the scene of the crime and faced initial felony assault charges. In light of the victim's death, these charges have now been elevated to include those related to homicide. As reported by the Sacramento Police Department's social media post, Reese remains in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail where he has been held since the initial incident.
The Sacramento Police Department has appealed to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information about the stabbing to get in touch.
