San Antonio city officials and development partners marked the opening of Nova Lofts, an affordable housing development in District 10. Developed by The NRP Group, the project added 65 homes and is part of the city's 2022 Affordable Housing Bond, which has contributed to more than 830 affordable homes. Located at Rainbow Drive and Cloudhaven Drive near Austin Highway, Nova Lofts includes units at 30%, 50%, and 60% of the Area Median Income to assist low- and moderate-income families. According to the City of San Antonio, a family of three earning 30% of Area Median Income makes no more than $23,900 annually. Mayor Ron Nirenberg said, "Affordable housing isn’t just about providing a roof over someone’s head—it’s about ensuring that every person has a foundation for success. Nova Lofts is a testament to what happens when we invest wisely, plan strategically, and prioritize people."
District 10 Councilmember Marc Whyte spoke about the importance of expanding affordable housing across San Antonio at the grand opening of Nova Lofts. "The grand opening of Nova Lofts underscores a fundamental truth—affordable housing is not just an issue for one district, but for all of San Antonio," he said. The project is part of the city's Affordable Housing Bond, which has allocated over $115 million to create and preserve more than 4,100 homes near jobs, transit, and schools. Nova Lofts is the second Bond project in partnership with The NRP Group and supports the city's Strategic Housing Implementation Plan, as reported by the City of San Antonio.
The rapid lease-up of Nova Lofts apartments reflects the demand for affordable housing in San Antonio. NRP Group Senior Vice President of Development Jason Arechiga stated, "We are proud to celebrate Nova Lofts and the impact that it’s making in this community." The project is part of ongoing efforts to address housing accessibility through policy, investment, and community initiatives. More information on the city's Area Median Income affordability levels is available on the government's official website, as stated by the City of San Antonio.
