A 34-year-old man, Sean Anthony Samaniego, was arrested in connection with a shooting at a Valero gas station on the Far Southeast Side. The incident, described as a road rage case, happened last Friday near Highway 181 South and East Loop 1604 South. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest, according to FOX San Antonio.
Deputies responded to a scene where they found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound, which later proved fatal. Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and seeing a dark truck speed away from a gas station. Surveillance footage showed the victim arriving in a white sedan and approaching a dark blue Chevy truck belonging to Samaniego. Samaniego claimed a passenger in his truck fired the shots and has not cooperated with investigators, as reported by News 4 San Antonio.
Authorities say Samaniego tried to evade law enforcement by removing the trailer from his truck, which was later recovered and identified as his. Deputies arrested him for evidence tampering in connection with a murder investigation. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.
