In a concerning pattern of events, Battalion Chief Robert Herrera remarked that the area has been on the department's radar due to several recent incidents. "We've been kinda watching this area. There have been two to three fires in the area, and these buildings were slated for demolition and are empty," Herrera explained, as per KTVU. Notably, no one was reported to be injured during the warehouse fire.
The San José Fire Department remained on the scene for hours following the initial report. The first building was destroyed, while the second adjacent warehouse sustained damage to only one side. Updates from the Fire Department indicated that the conflagration was fully under control shortly after responders tackled it.
