Residents of Petaluma were hit with the news of a significant police operation on Berrydale Drive. According to a social media post from the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD), an ongoing investigation led to the execution of a search warrant by SRPD Officers from the Special Enforcement Team (SET) on Friday evening, targeting illegal weapons possession.
In the course of the action, two individuals, Oswald Alejandro Gallegos, 29, and Joseph Bigone, 39, were detained. Law enforcement discovered not just the suspected illegal firearms, which included a stolen .357 magnum Ruger revolver and a loaded .25 auto pistol, but they also seized suspected narcotics. What's more, the dangerous combination of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and the loaded gun was found to be easily accessible to children present in the residence, an egregious disregard for safety.
The SRPD social media update detailed the charges laid against Gallegos and Bigone. Following the seizure, Gallegos faces multiple charges, including felony possession of a firearm by a prohibited addict, child endangerment, and narcotics possession with priors. Additionally, Bigone's charges include possession of a firearm by a prohibited addict, narcotics possession for sale, and possession of stolen property.
Both men were booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility after the arrests.
