The Santa Rosa Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating John Lee Henning, a 54-year-old man who was reported missing by his caregivers yesterday. According to a social media post from the Santa Rosa Police, Henning was last spotted in southwest Santa Rosa leaving his residence on his white mountain bike with intentions of heading to Cypress Hill Cemetery in Petaluma, a route he frequently takes.
Henning, last seen around 1:00 p.m. yesterday, is known to travel along Petaluma Hill Rd. or Stony Point Rd. between Santa Rosa, and Petaluma. He typically returns by late afternoon, which makes his current absence particularly concerning. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as wearing black pants, a red zip-up jacket, white shoes adorned with red and blue laces, and a black Warriors baseball cap. Standing approximately 5’6” tall, he weighs around 150 pounds.
The urgency to find Henning stems not only from his regular pattern of return but also from his at-risk status due to a developmental disability and the necessity for medications linked to various health conditions. The Santa Rosa Police described Henning as having a developmental disability age that resembles a young teenager, underscoring the imperative need for community vigilance and support.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who might have seen John since yesterday afternoon to come forward. "Any small tip may help in locating him," the Santa Rosa Police Department emphasized in their online plea.
