Harris County authorities are on the hunt for a suspect who allegedly fired shots and then barricaded himself in his home following a domestic disturbance earlier today. According to a report by ABC13, Precinct 1 deputies initially arrived at a scene in the 7800 block of Bayou Forest Drive following reports that 40-year-old Zachary Allen Parker had damaged property and opened fire at a person there.
Subsequently, Parker retreated to his residence on Twisting Vine Lane, leading deputies to attempt negotiating a peaceful surrender. Confirmed by Major Cedric Collier with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, they utilized a PA system, robots, and deployed drones inside the residence. "We tried everything we could to talk him out," Collier told ABC13. Despite these efforts, it came to light after a SWAT operation that the man was not in the house when cleared by authorities.
A FOX26 news report earlier did not reveal Parker's identity or his connection to the home on Bayou Forest Drive, but it emphasized the seriousness of the standoff that led to the involvement of Harris County SWAT.
As the search continues, Parker remains wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The public is advised not to approach him, as he is believed to be armed, and instead to contact Crime Stoppers or the Harris County Sheriff's Office with any information. Despite the tense situation, no injuries have been reported.
