Seattle detectives are on the hunt for suspects following a brazen home invasion robbery in the Northgate neighborhood. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) reports that the incident took place around 12:40 p.m. yesterday, on the 9500 block of Aurora Avenue North. A 60-year-old man was forced back into his house by two individuals after he had stepped outside, initiating a troubling sequence of events.

The SPD statement, detailed on the SPD blotter, says the suspects rummaged through the residence, taking various belongings including the victim's car keys, mobile phone, and the keys to his apartment. While then leaving, a suspect pointed a gun at the homeowner and forced him out of the house. The man escaped, prompting a gunshot as he ran. Thankfully, he was not hit, though a vehicle was struck by the bullet.

Afterward, the perpetrators left the scene with possibly another accomplice driving the vehicle. Officers who arrived later collected evidence at the crime scene. The investigation is ongoing and has been escalated to the Robbery detectives of the SPD, who are now leading the effort to apprehend those responsible.

The department is urging anyone with information that could help resolve this case to step forward. Those with tips should contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000. The authorities have made a public appeal in hopes that community members may provide the lead that brings those involved to justice. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any unusual activity in their vicinity.
