Starting March 10, the Seattle Department of Transportation will adjust street parking rates across the city. Most rates will either stay the same or decrease to align with the city's parking occupancy targets, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
Seattle's parking rate adjustments aim to maintain 1 to 2 open spaces per block by analyzing data from each paid parking area. The system is designed to support access to local businesses and venues while managing parking availability efficiently, as reported by the Seattle Department of Transportation.
Seattle's parking rates are adjusted seasonally in the spring, summer, and fall to align with demand, following guidelines established in 2011 under the Seattle Municipal Code. Most changes will remain in place until the next scheduled update in summer 2025, except in areas like Ballard Locks, where rates are reviewed twice a year, as stated by the Seattle Department of Transportation.
