The county is now grappling with fixing the newly exposed problem to prevent further deterioration and potential hazards.
The discovery of the void has compelled the county to act swiftly, necessitating a temporary closure to address the predicament and overhaul this fragment of the roadway, during the repairs, the authorities uncovered that it was not just a simple manhole issue, but rather a larger chasm had formed beneath the surface, which now requires filling and repairing to restore the structural integrity of the road. While the work is underway, locals on the eastern stretch of Myers Rd. must adapt their travel itineraries, re-routing them in a dance of turns and detours to bypass the construction zone.
To facilitate travel, diversions have been set up along Myers Rd. to Mesquite Drain Levee Rd., then turning north, this kink in the route shall guide vehicles to Tarin Rd. and eventually onto Ward Rd., with these adjustments catering to traffic entering and exiting the affected area.
