A burglary suspect has been fatally shot by a security guard following a car crash into a West Los Angeles marijuana dispensary, as pinpointed by law enforcement and recounted by local detectives. According to FOX LA, the incident occurred early Monday morning, and the confrontation led to the death of the individual involved.

The shooting was reported at 3:12 a.m. at ERBA Markets' dispensary located at Pico Boulevard and Centinela Avenue. A newer Hyundai sedan was seen on footage crashed through the business window, as reported by FOX LA. Witnesses described a second male suspect seen running from the scene possibly dropping evidence.

Det. Samuel Marullo of LAPD's West Bureau Homicide division shared that the security guard, stationed inside ERBA Markets at the time, acted in response to the perceived imminent robbery. "A preliminary investigation revealed the security guard saw the driver, wearing a ski mask, and believed a robbery was about to occur," Marullo told FOX LA. The guard proceeded to fire at the suspect, subsequently striking him.

While the 16-year-old suspect's identity is yet to be disclosed, after the shooting he was rushed to hospital, and succumbed to his injuries there. As per CBS Los Angeles, the officers arrived at ERBA Markets Weed Dispensary on Pico Boulevard and Sawtelle Avenue, where they found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound. "He was taken into custody and transported," authorities said
