Yesterday morning, a serious fire erupted at the Franklin Park Apartments in Greenbelt, Maryland, leading to the dramatic rescue of seven residents, including a child, from their balconies. According to WUSA9, the blaze in the 6100 block of Breezewood Drive started shortly before 8:45 p.m. Prince George's County Fire and Rescue Department reported that flames were visible from the first and second floors of a three-story building upon arrival.
Efforts to extricate the trapped individuals quickly were successful after a second alarm was sounded. Prince George's officials further stated that two people were transported to a local hospital, although their conditions were not disclosed as of last night. The aid of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services was enlisted, with spokesperson Pete Piringer affirming their participation.
