Early Sunday morning, a shooting at an after-hours sports bar in Southwest Houston left six people wounded, according to the city's police department. The incident, reported by Click2Houston, occurred at Latina’s Sports Bar located on Hillcroft Street around 3 a.m.
The Houston Police Department were quick to respond to the reports of gunfire and found that, six individuals had been shot and needed to be transported to the hospital for their injuries. While details were initially scant, officers have since uncovered more information. KHOU reports that the shooting appears to have been an isolated incident, with the suspects and victims allegedly knowing each other and the confrontation unfolding in the parking lot.
Among the six injured individuals, ambulance crews transported three to the hospital, while the remaining three were taken in private vehicles. According to the same report from KHOU, four of the victims were in critical condition and undergoing surgery shortly after the shooting.
Investigators are actively searching for two suspects, believed to be driving a black Toyota Camry or Corolla. They have access to surveillance footage and have been interviewing witnesses, trying to piece together the sequence of events that led to the shooting. The sports bar was "packed" when the shots rang out, which hints at the potential chaos and fear experienced by patrons in the early morning hours, as reported by KHOU. The police emphasize that the investigation is ongoing, and they continue to solicit information from the public that might lead to the apprehension of the suspects.
