A pedestrian tragedy unfolded yesterday in Lake County as a 54-year-old Sorrento man lost his life after being struck by a pickup truck. The Florida Highway Patrol reported this incident. ClickOrlando detailed that the fatal collision occurred at 12:50 a.m. on Plymouth Sorrento Road, north of Adair Avenue, with the man reportedly walking southward in the southbound travel lane before the accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol relayed that the pedestrian was hit by the right side of a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, the vehicle then occupied by a 38-year-old Apopka woman who did not sustain injuries from the encounter and cooperated with law enforcement at the scene. Regrettably, the man was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
