
At a recent St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Krista Joseph of District 4 recognized the hard work of the county's government finance and budget professionals. She presented a proclamation honoring them as part of Government Finance Professionals Week, as reported by the St. Johns County.
The Florida Government Finance Officers Association, established in 1937 with over 3,300 members, supported the recognition of Government Finance Professionals Week. According to the St. Johns County's official website, the proclamation emphasizes "the important work performed by government finance professionals" and "who play a critical role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and sound financial management in the public sector."
The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners has designated March 17-21, as "BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the board of county commissioners of St. Johns County, Florida, that the week of March 17-21, 2025 be designated as GOVERNMENT FINANCE PROFESSIONALS WEEK." Sponsored by Florida Government Finance Officers Association and its partnering organizations, the recognition week acknowledges the work of finance professionals in managing taxpayer dollars and supporting financial stability.
