St. Johns County residents and commuters, take note. From next Friday to March 23, the stretch of County Road 210 between Greenbriar Road and Cimarrone Boulevard will undergo a significant shift in traffic patterns. This adjustment is part of an extensive road widening project that's been orchestrated to ease up the daily tangle of congestion that has long been an ailment of this community's thoroughfare.
According to an update shared on the St. Johns County's Facebook page, drivers should expect to seriously adjust their commute times and proceed with caution as they navigate the new layout. The county emphatically urged local drivers to "Please exercise caution during this time as traffic adjusts to the new roadway configuration." Delays are expected, likely to be significant, given that these aren't just any streets, but arterial roads through the heart of a rapidly expanding community.
Yet, this project, specifically, has been positioned to alleviate some of the very pressures its construction will temporarily exacerbate. It's infrastructure taking one step back to take two forward, seeking to sculpt a better flow of movement to keep pace with the area's development.
The Public Works department requests the public's patience and attentiveness during this period. For more details and for any updates on the project, visit the link provided by the county.
