Following a tense three-hour standoff in Stark County, 44-year-old man Brent J. Mollet was arrested after allegedly taking a hostage during a domestic incident. According to a WKYC report, Jackson Township Police responded to the scene at a residence on Scotsbury Street Northwest around 7:30 p.m. Mollet is said to have barricaded himself in a bedroom with the victim.

The situation prompted a response from the Canton Regional SWAT Cooperative after Jackson Township Police secured the area. Having held the individual for nearly three hours, Mollet released the victim. "The suspect surrendered after further negotiation," police indicated, as stated by WKYC.
