A brutal encounter in Butler County landed one man in critical condition and another behind bars after a robbery and assault incident last Friday. WPXI reported that Pennsylvania State Troopers responded to the scene on Stewart Road in Washington Township, where they discovered a 42-year-old man severely beaten and subsequently took him to Grove City Hospital before he was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

The suspect, 31-year-old Dylan Hinchberger, was identified by police as the assailant who forcibly entered the victim's residence, robbed it with several guns, then lay in wait for his return, wherein a violent altercation ensued outside the victim's home, and shots were fired inside the property. Following the attack, Hinchberger fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, which he crashed into a tree five miles away. He abandoned the crashed vehicle and escaped on foot, per the CBS News Pittsburgh report.

Efforts to apprehend Hinchberger led authorities to a Quality Inn Hotel in Grove City, where he attempted to elude capture by jumping out of a second-story window and fleeing into the woods, "PSP Aviation tracked Hinchberger and he was eventually found and arrested," as stated in the WPXI narrative. State Police used cell phone data as part of their investigative effort to track his location and were able to detain him after a short chase and struggle.

Hinchberger is currently being held at the Pennsylvania State Police Butler barracks. The police have assured residents that there is no ongoing threat to the community; however, the suspect is no longer at large, and the situation is under control.
