The Metropolitan Police Department has recently confirmed the arrest of an individual associated with a fatal shooting last year. The suspect, now in custody, was involved in an incident from August 2024 that culminated in the untimely death of a young teen and the injury of an adult male.
According to the information provided by the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting took place on August 1, 2024, around 7:51 p.m. on Tuckerman Street in Northeast D.C. Police, responding to emergency calls, discovered two victims: a juvenile male who had succumbed to gunshot wounds at the scene, and an adult male who was later found and transported to a local hospital with injuries recognized to be non-fatal.
The life lost was that of 14-year-old David Bailey from Northeast, D.C. In a significant development, 18-year-old Andre Chillous of Northwest, D.C. was arrested last Friday, following an arrest warrant issued by the DC Superior Court. Although he was a juvenile at the time of the crime, Chillous is facing adult charges of First Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated), related to the incident that resulted in one teenager's death and left another injured.
