The Metropolitan Police Department has apprehended 18-year-old Aaron Tolliver in connection with a shooting that injured a 17-year-old in Southeast D.C. and a series of violent crimes. The arrest, which took place in the suspect's home on Tuesday, also led to the discovery of an unregistered firearm. MPD's official report states that Tolliver is now facing multiple charges including the February shooting and a series of offenses dating back to December 2024.
Officers responded to a call on February 8 about a shooting involving a young male in the 2600 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. Emergency services arrived promptly, and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The case, recorded under CCN 25019001, led to an investigation that connected Tolliver to other criminal activities in the area.
The arrest warrant issued by D.C. Superior Court led to Tolliver's detention, making him the subject of an investigation into several crimes, including an armed carjacking on December 22, 2024, in the 1700 block of 4th Street, Northwest, and a robbery at gunpoint the following day in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest, as recorded under CCN 24197868 and CCN 24198187. Additional charges include an attempted armed robbery and another robbery, both occurring on December 24, 2024 and documented under CCNs 24198739 and 24198740. In each case, the suspect allegedly threatened victims with a gun to take personal property or a vehicle before fleeing the scene.
