Yesterday morning, a shooting rattled the stillness outside the AMC movie theater on Tremont Street, right across from the tranquil expanse of the Boston Common. According to NBC Boston, witnesses reported that an individual opened fire from one vehicle into another at approximately 2:45 a.m. Police officers arriving at the scene discovered evidence that confirmed the violent disturbance.
Boston police later stated that the injured party managed to transport themselves to a nearby hospital, arriving with serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. This information, provided by Officer Mark Marron, was also confirmed by Boston.com, which noted that as of yesterday evening, the suspect remained at large while Boston police continued their investigation into the shooting that disrupted the early morning calm.
In addition to what has been reported by media outlets, there has been no further detail on the identity of the wounded individual or if there was any connection between those involved in the shooting. The Boston Globe, in an article published on the incident, highlighted that police found ballistic evidence at the scene, which corroborated the accounts provided by those who witnessed the event.
The Boston Police Department continues to appeal to the public for any additional information that could lead to an arrest.
