
A man from Hudson, identified as George Labar, was arrested after a shooting incident outside Capone's bar in Spring Hill, Hernando County. Reports came in on Friday, close to midnight, when Labar allegedly fired several rounds after being escorted out following a physical dispute within the establishment, authorities say no one was hurt but shots shattered a bar window, according to a social media post by Hernando County Sheriff's Office today.
Witnesses who saw the suspect engage in the altercation inside Capone's, before he took it outside and eventually shot from his white Dodge Ram truck, helped identify Labar to law enforcement officials. Labar led deputies on a chase in his vehicle after they attempted to execute a warrant for his arrest, which was obtained using various investigative techniques, resulting in a law enforcement pursuit that ended with his vehicle colliding with multiple objects, a fence, and a patrol car, the pursuit involved not only Hernando County but also the Pasco Sheriff's Office in the effort, said officials.
Labar, born on April 20, 1984, faces charges including Shoot/Throw Deadly Missile at a Public Dwelling and Discharging a Firearm in Public from a Vehicle, both classified as second-degree felonies. The confrontation with the deputies led to additional charges from the Pasco Sheriff's Office: Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Fleeing to Elude Law Enforcement with Injury/Damage, and multiple others related to controlled substances and resisting an officer.
Following the chaos, Labar was taken to a hospital for minor injuries, some of which are believed to have occurred during the bar incident; however, he has refused to cooperate with investigators about the shooting. Currently held at the Pasco County Jail without bond, according to the Hernando County warrant.
