After nearly two years of investigation, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection to a 2023 murder case. The individuals, identified as 34-year-old Breanna Harris and 30-year-old Dontarius Fiffer, face charges for the Second-Degree Murder and Attempted Armed Robbery of 34-year-old Antonio Waldon.
According to a social media post by the JSO, the incident that culminated in Waldon's death occurred on June 19, 2023, when police responded to reports of a shooting on West 6th Street in Durkeeville. Officers discovered Waldon sitting inside a car with a fatal gunshot wound. Taken time to solve the case, the homicide detectives never wavered in their commitment.
"Time may move on, but your #JSO Homicide Unit does not give up, especially when it comes to seeking justice for victims," the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office stated in its post. This breakthrough was achieved with the assistance of the State Attorney’s Office leading to the arrests on Friday.
The case has drawn attention due to the sheer determination of the investigators involved. Working tirelessly on the case, the homicide team managed to connect Harris and Fiffer to Waldon's murder, ensuring that the suspects were apprehended and would face legal consequences for their actions. "We won’t stop until justice is served for Waldon’s family," Jacksonville Sheriff's Office dedication to resolution was clear in their statement.
