Early on March 5, the peace of a Hauula neighborhood was shattered by the outbreak of a fire within one of its residential buildings. The Honolulu Fire Department was quick on the scene after a 911 call placed at 4:16 a.m. directed them to 54-259 B Kaipapau Loop, according to an official report by the HFD. A total of nine units and 34 personnel were deployed in response to the emergency.
The first responders arrived at approximately 4:27 a.m., initially not discerning any signs of the blaze. However, a diligent search revealed the fire at the back of a single-story house. An aggressive attack on the fire was immediately initiated, and a thorough search was conducted to ensure the building was empty. Via the above-mentioned HFD report, the fire was successfully contained at 4:35 a.m. and declared extinguished by 4:51 a.m., marking a swift end to what might have been a devastating incident.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. Further information and updates will be issued upon the completion of the investigative report, as indicated by the HFD's announcement.
