
An incident unfolded last Friday night in Palm Harbor, Pinellas County, when a 68-year-old Tarpon Springs man driving the wrong way collided with two other vehicles, as reported by multiple sources. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. along the Belcher Road intersection with Beecher Drive East, according to WFLA.
The elderly man, traveling south in the northbound lanes in a white Toyota Tacoma, for reasons still unknown, first crashed into a red Cadillac DTS driven by a 73-year-old Tarpon Springs woman, subsequently hitting a black Mazda Protégé 5 operated by a 35-year-old man from Palm Harbor; the series of collisions left all three vehicles immobile in the traffic lanes of Belcher Road. WTSP added that all involved parties were urgently transported to the hospital due to injuries sustained from the incident, the wrong-way driver later passed away from his injuries.
The details regarding the condition of the other two drivers are currently being withheld.
