Early Friday morning, the Taylor Police Department responded to a grave scene at the Stepping Stone Apartments in Taylor, where a man was found dead under suspicious circumstances. According to CBS Austin, officers arrived at the 2501 Davis Street address around 2:41 a.m. after they were alerted to the presence of an adult male lying on the ground outside of the residential complex.
The discovery was grim, the deceased exhibited clear signs of "external trauma." As of now, the man's identity remains undisclosed as officials await results from an impending autopsy, which they hope will reveal the cause of death. In a statement obtained by KXAN, police communicated that there is no immediate threat to the public, but the investigation is, however, ongoing.
Involving multiple law enforcement and forensic teams, the case drew the Williamson County Crime Scene Unit, Taylor detectives, and a Williamson County Precinct Three death investigator to the scene to aid in the meticulous investigation process.
While the specifics of the incident are still being pieced together, Taylor Police are urging anyone with information pertinent to the case to reach out. Those with insights into the events leading up to the man's death are encouraged to contact Sgt. Mike Culp at 512-352-5551. The community's assistance could prove instrumental in untangling the events of that early morning and, possibly, in bringing closure to a jarring situation.
