
Following a reported armed robbery in Northeast D.C., police have taken a teenage suspect into custody. The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that a 17-year-old male from Southeast, D.C., was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the crime that unfolded a few months prior. The incident occurred on the unit block of Patterson Street, Northeast, where the victim was robbed at gunpoint by two individuals who subsequently fled in a vehicle, which was later recovered by authorities.
According to a statement released by the MPD, the arrest was made pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court custody order. The charge laid against the young suspect was Armed Robbery (Gun). The authorities have yet to fully wrap up to commence the proceedings against the second individual involved in the incident, indicating that the investigation remains active.
The robbery took place on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at approximately 11:39 a.m. and led to the deployment of officers to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crime. The swift action of the MPD has brought some measure of relief to a community frequently beleaguered by such violent incidents. Nevertheless, the search continues for the second suspect, and MPD's efforts have not abated in their quest to bring all responsible parties to justice.
