
A Tennessee Highway Patrol officer, Trooper Douglas Williams, sustained serious injuries in a vehicular collision while on duty in Benton County. Riding on a 2024 Harley-Davidson police motorcycle, Williams was struck from behind on U.S. Highway 641, as detailed in reports by local news sources.
Flying to Nashville for his treatment, the injuries of Williams, although severe, have not been deemed life-threatening, confirmed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Not having been injured, the other driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene. According to a Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security representative, in a statement detailed by WSMV, the collision occurred while Williams, an 11-year veteran of the force, patrolled the area.
