Three individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place earlier this month in Houston, Texas. Specifically, the incident occurred on March 1 at an apartment complex located at 8301 Willow Place Drive. According to the City of Houston's news release, two adult males, Andres Garcia, 20, and Joshua Richards, 17, face capital murder charges following their involvement in the death of 18-year-old Miguel "Mickey" Gonzalez Jr.
The investigation, handled by the HPD Homicide Division's Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger, led to the arrest of Garcia, Richards, and a 16-year-old juvenile last Friday. Each has been charged with capital murder. The juvenile suspect's details, however, remain undisclosed due to their age, as protocol for such cases. A shooting at the aforementioned location, led first responders to discover an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds who, was pronounced deceased by the Houston Fire Department paramedics.
A preliminary investigation revealed a tragic scenario where Gonzalez was allegedly lured to the apartment complex under the false pretense of purchasing items, only to be robbed and fatally shot by the suspects. Additionally, during the course of events two suspects sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, with Garcia identified among the wounded.
All the details emerged as law enforcement officials pieced together the horrific sequence of events, culminating in the apprehension of the accused parties. The authorities have urged anyone with further information to reach out to the HPD Homicide Division or to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
