In a recent announcement by Constable Mark Herman's Office, a traffic stop on March 11 led to the arrest of three individuals allegedly connected to a spree of vehicle thefts in Atascocita. According to the official Facebook page of Harris County Constable Precinct 4, a deputy identified a vehicle tied to the prior night's theft of two GMC trucks. This vehicle, holding three Hispanic males and one female, was stopped on the 17900 block of June Forest Drive.
The driver, Andrew Perez, along with Leonardo Abarca and Carlos Ramos, matched descriptions from surveillance footage obtained by complainants. Inside the vehicle, deputies found "several criminal instruments used to steal vehicles," potentially linking them more directly to the crimes. Carlos Ramos was notably found to have an existing open Auto Theft and Felony Theft warrant out of Harris County. The statement notes that "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail," confirming the apprehension of the suspects, as stated by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Facing serious charges, Andrew Perez was slammed with Felony Theft and Manufacturing Criminal Instrument, holding a $7,500.00 bond for the latter charge, with his bond for the Felony Theft yet to be determined by the 182nd District Court. His accomplices didn't fare much better; Leonardo Abarca and Carlos Ramos are facing 3 counts of Felony Theft each. Abarca's bond was firmly set at $60,000.00 by the 209th District Court, while Ramos is still pending bond, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
