Yesterday morning, a tragic crash in Lake County claimed the lives of three women and left another in critical condition. The solo-vehicle accident involved a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and occurred on State Road 19, south of Saint Florian Lane, around 3:16 a.m., as reported by ClickOrlando. The driver, a 30-year-old woman from Mount Dora, failed to navigate a left-hand curve, leading the vehicle off the road and into a pole, resulting in the vehicle overturning multiple times. The Florida Highway Patrol stated that no vehicle occupants wore seat belts during the crash.
The 30-year-old driver and a 32-year-old woman, both pronounced dead at the scene, were among the ejected. After being transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, the 28-year-old woman was also pronounced dead, while the fourth occupant, a 26-year-old woman from Eustis, is reportedly in critical condition, according to details encapsulated in a WFTV report. The identities of the deceased have not been made public pending notification of next of kin.
Troopers continue to investigate the events that led to the crash and have not disclosed any findings regarding what may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
