The Tigard Tesla dealership encountered violence once more as it became the target of gunfire for the second time in just one week. Tigard Police are diligently combing through the details of the incident that occurred early Thursday morning on Southwest Cascade Avenue. The gunfire erupted around 4:15 a.m., sending 10-15 bullets towards the establishment which, fortunately, left the one security guard on duty unscathed, as reported by KOIN.
In what seems to be an unsettling trend, the recent shooting at the dealership aligns with a wider pattern of protests against Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk, chiefly for his alleged connections to the Trump administration. Such demonstrations have spread throughout Oregon and afield. Despite this background, groups involved in civil protest were quick to distance themselves from the violence. "It's completely inappropriate," Alan Unell of Indivisible Greater Vancouver asserted to KGW, condemning the shooting and stating his group's commitment to "nonviolent, civil protest."
