A fire broke out on Wednesday at a residential building on Manoa Road in Honolulu. The Honolulu Fire Department responded with 10 units and 38 personnel after a 911 call at 4:25 a.m., and crews arrived at the scene by 4:34 a.m.
Firefighters used large hoses and deck-mounted master streams in an exterior defensive attack to control the fire. At 4:52 a.m., a patient was found in a nearby residence and was handed over to Emergency Medical Services for medical care, as reported by the Honolulu Fire Department.
A fire in a building resulted in an elderly couple being found inside. One was taken to the hospital for medical care, and the other unfortunately died from their injuries. The fire was brought under control at 5:02 a.m. and fully extinguished by 5:29 a.m. The Honolulu Fire Department is investigating the cause and origin of the fire. "An update will be sent out once the final investigation report is complete," the department stated.
